2016 NFL Preseason Power Rankings

The 2016 NFL season is right around corner, which means a few things. First, thousands of relationships across the country are doomed, because of how much money will be spent on fantasy football and other related NFL bets. Second, overall production in the work environment will be down on Mondays (even more so than it already usually is) from September until February. And thirdly, we’re in for an even bigger batch of Peyton Manning commercials.

2016 NFL Week 17 Power Rankings: Cardinals Cruising

With one week left in the regular season, here’s what we know: The six teams in have been decided, but not much else. The Panthers and Cardinals will receive a first round bye but both could still end up as the #1 seed The Packers, Vikings and Seahawks are all in and in no particular order will represent that #3, 5 and 6 seeds, while the Redskins are the only definitive at this point and they will finish as the #4 seed.

2015 NFL Week 16 Power Rankings: Chiefs Continue Winning Ways

With just two weeks left in the regular season, the AFC only has two teams that have clinched. The 3-6 seeds are still all up for grabs, and could come down to the final week of the season. Over in the NFC, four teams have clinched but other than the Panthers earning a first round bye, there is still plenty to be decided.

Week 16 is a big one in the NFL. It represents the fantasy football championship week in many leagues. But it also represents the final week of Thursday, Saturday and Monday night games.

2015 NFL Week 15 Power Rankings: Seahawks and Steelers Soaring

Week 14 was a week some teams would like to forget, and the Bengals are at the top of that list. Andy Dalton is likely to miss extended time due to a thumb injury, and Tyler Eifert left Sunday’s game with a concussion. Elsewhere, LeGarrette Blount is out for the season with a hip injury which puts the Patriots onto running back #3. Jonathan Stewart of the Panthers also has a concerning injury that left him in a walking boot, and tight end Greg Olsen left the game but appears to be okay moving forward.

2015 NFL Week 13 Power Rankings: Panthers Perfect, Patriots Pass Blame to Refs

Week 12 has come and gone. I’m not sure what was more surprising – the Sunday Night game between top ranked teams in which a backup quarterback handed Tom Brady his first loss of the season – or the Monday Night game between two of the league’s worst, that ended with a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown. But regardless, we are one week closer to the playoffs and that is really all that matters.

2015 NFL Week 12 Power Rankings: Cardinals Continue to Rise

We are now 11 weeks into the season and have reached the final week of November. I don’t remember a season with so many “mediocre” teams. Out of 32 teams in the league, 18 of them have a record that is either .500 or one game away from it (either below or above). That tells me that the final six weeks of the season are going to be a heck of a ride as we figure out which 12 teams will be playing for a chance to win it all.

2015 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings: Vikings Take Over NFC North Lead

As anticipated, one undefeated went down in Week 10, but it likely wasn’t who you thought. The Patriots squeaked out a last second victory against the Giants but the 8-0 Bengals laid an egg at home against the Texans. Elsewhere around the league, Peyton Manning broke the all-time record for passing yards in a career, and threw for four interceptions all in the same game.

Further down in the rankings, the Packers continue to fall, while the Chiefs and Bears slowly continue to rise, and the Jaguars, yes the Jaguars, are only one game out of first place.

2015 NFL Week 10 Power Rankings: Panthers Maintain Winning Ways

Another week, and another undefeated team goes down. We are down to three and don’t be surprised if after this week we are down to two. Even though it would be an upset on paper, I don’t think too many people would be surprised if the Giants find a way to get past New England this week.

Speaking of upsets, the Eagles avoided an upset last week by beating Dallas in overtime and helping me go 2-1 in primetime picks, bringing my season record to 13-14. This week has some interesting matchups, but perhaps the toughest game to call is the Thursday night game between the Bills and the Jets. I’ve liked the Bills all year but the Jets have impressed me, so I will take them to win a close one at home.  On Sunday night, I’ll take Seattle over Arizona and I’ll make it a clean sweep for home teams as I will take the Bengals over the Texans on Monday night.
